GLI and THE PAPER FIG FOUNDATION are two NGO's that help small business owners, artisans and women in the developing world. GLI is run by Jamie van Leeuwen, the Senior Advisor to the governor of Colorado and PFF is run by Laurie DeJong, the founder and CEO of LDJ Productions and the Managing Producer of New York Fashion Week.
The organizations brought us on board to help curate and perform in a concert for 400 taste makers in New York City. Through the lens of our show, Witness Uganda, we shared the stories of GLI and PFF; and with a cast of 8 singers, 5 musicians, and 10 African drummers, helped to raise funds for the construction of a hospital, a water treatement system, and a bridge in Uganda. We're currently working alongside Laurie as the Creative Directors of a new show for L'Oreal Matrix. With Jamie, plans are underway to bring us to Uganda to lead a youth conference in the summer of 2017. |
